The Gochnauer farm has been in the family since 1868 and is currently being run by the 6th generation of the Gochnauer family. It was operated as a dairy farm from the early 1900s until 2003. Now, the Gochnauers farm 325 acres of corn, soybeans and alfalfa near Kenyon in southeast Minnesota. The family also runs a cow/calf beef herd.
Larry and Martha are retired from the farm and their son Branden is now the owner-operator. Larry still helps when needed. Branden’s brother, Jason, and his family own a feedlot and work off the farm. Jason’s son, Jacob, and his wife, Megan, rent a feedlot and work off the farm. Branden’s brother, Jeremy, also has an off-farm job.
The Gochnauers were inducted into the Dodge County Fair Hall of Fame in 2019. The family has been involved in Dodge County 4-H and Triton FFA.
