Randy and Sherrie Schwecke Family
Randy’s father, Don, purchased the farm from Randy’s grandfather and began a purebred swine herd selling breeding stock. Randy started farming with his brothers after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Waseca. The farm has grown to a 4,200-sow farrowing operation and 1,300 acres of corn and soybeans. When the Schweckes’ son, Zach, returned home from college, the family started a 100-sow show pig operation. Zach is part-owner of the show pig business.
The Schweckes have two other children, Haley and Weston, who both help with the show pigs.
Randy serves on the council at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Gibbon and is a past board member of the Sibley County Pork Producers, the Minnesota Purebred Swine Association and the Minnesota Spotted Swine Association.
