Mike and Karen Hagen
The Hagen farm is a Century Farm that has been in operation for 105 years. Mike’s grandfather was the original owner. He recorded the farm on 11/11/1911 at 11am. The Hagens farm 650 acres in northern Minnesota, having farmed up to 1,500 acres in past years--growing crops that include wheat, canola, soybeans, barley, timothy, bluegrass, and perennial rye grass. They’ve also raised hogs.
The Hagen family includes their daughter, Melissa, and her husband, John Lundgren, and a son, Brent. They lend assistance when needed.
Mike’s local involvement includes being a member of the Wannaska Lions Club and he serves on the Northwest Regional Minnesota Farm Bureau Board. He is a director on the Minnesota Barley Growers Association Board and is an alternate for the Roseau/Lake of the Woods County Soybean Growers Association. Mike is a past member of the Roseau County Extension Committee and has supported local 4-H and FFA. He served on the Roseau County Fair Board, the Minnesota Canola Council, the Salol Elevator Board and the Farm Business Management Advisory Committee.
Karen is a director on the Roseau County Historical Society Board and a past member of the Lake of the Woods/Roseau County Thrivent Financial Board.
