Doug Teichert and his wife, JoAnn, are in the seed business as well as farming. The Teicherts sell Asgrow, Channel and Dekalb seed and grow corn and soybeans on over 800 acres near Montevideo in western Minnesota. Doug’s father started selling seed in 1964 and 20 years later, Doug launched his seed business.
The Teichert family had a farrow-to-finish hog business for 20 years before eventually transitioning more into seed sales.
The Teicherts’ son-in-law, Ryan Stewart, is involved in the family’s farming operation. All of the family members have helped in the farming and seed business throughout the years.
Doug and JoAnn support Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. They donate food plot seeds to various groups. The Teicherts have sponsored the United Wrestling Program and they both serve on the church council at Saron Lutheran Church, where JoAnn is an organist.
When the Teicherts aren’t selling seed or farming, they enjoy going for rides on their Honda Goldwing or four-wheeling in the Black Hills and spending time with their five children and seven grandchildren.
