Barb and Tim Dahl and Family
Tim grew up on a dairy farm near Cromwell and Barb was raised on a dairy farm in the Sawyer area of Carlton County. Both family farms were eventually converted to beef operations and both farms qualify this year as Century Farms. The Dahls are now farming Tim’s family’s farm.
The Dahls have a small beef herd and raise hay for their livestock and the market. Barb and Tim have three children: Valerie, Allen and Amy. Allen has his own farm near Pine River where he also runs a beef operation. All the Dahl children were involved in 4-H.
Barb and Tim have been involved in many community organizations over the years, including volunteering for the Cromwell-Wright basketball team as game clock operator and bookkeeper. Barb also donates her time to the Historical Society and Dollars for Scholars. Barb and Tim are members of Bethany Lutheran, where Barb serves on the church council and as a deacon. She’s also made communion bread for the church every week for the past five years. Barb is also coordinator for Ruby’s Pantry, a food distribution service in the Cromwell area.
Barb was a 4-H leader for 25 years, served on the Carlton County Extension Committee and the local soil and water board. She also chaired the Big Sandy Watershed Project. Barb was involved in the Princess Kay of the Milky Way program for many years after serving as a northeast Minnesota Dairy Princess.
