The Carpenter dairy operation in central Minnesota’s Wadena County has experienced a lot of change over the four generations the farm has been in the family–from milking by hand many decades ago to today’s robotic milkers.
Rodney and his wife, Janet, their son, Josh, and Rodney’s brother, Dean, have been milking with a robotic system for almost three years. After milking in a double-six herringbone parlor for 13 years the family has kept their parlor open which they use for overflow. They have about 135 cows in their operation.
Josh Carpenter serves on his local FFA alumni chapter board and the FSA County Committee.
