Dale and Sandy Bissen started farming in 1973 with a 400‐acre partnership with Dale’s father. They raised corn, soybeans, alfalfa, cattle and hogs. Their son, Kim, started farming after he received a gift from the mower County Pork producers while in high school that eventually developed into a farrow‐to‐finish partner with his dad.
Today the farm raises cattle and hogs in addition to corn, soybeans and alfalfa. The Bissen’s also raise about two acres of grapes.
Kim and his wife Dawn have two children—Sydnie and Brant who also help out on the farm.
Dale and Kim are both very involved in their local community. Dale is a member of the Northern Country Co‐op Board, the Mower County Corn and Soybean Board. Mower County Cattlemen Board and he is a member of the Farm Bureau, American Legion and Sacred Heart Church.
Meanwhile, Kim is involved in the Township Board in Adams, Mower County Cattlemen Board and is also a member of Sacred Heart Church, American Legion and Farm Bureau.
