Jim and Debbie Morrison purchased land in 1997 and three years later they built a home on their acreage in Kanabec County in eastern Minnesota. This was the beginning of their produce farming operation that is now certified organic.
The Morrisons began with a garden, followed that up with maple syrup production from their trees and soon added an apple orchard.
Over time the Morrison’s operation has grown to include fruits and vegetables, honey bees, mushrooms, maple syrup, laying hens and apples. Jim and Debbie operate a CSA and sell their produce to the Cambridge Co‐op and local farmers market. They’ve also established a winery and produce hard apple cider.
When they are not running their farm Jim serves as a mentor through Family Pathways in Mora; Debbie serves on the board of directors for the Vasaloppet.
