Klimek Family Farm
Glen and Mary Lou operate a dairy farm outside of Alexandria in Douglas County. They milk about 50 cows and raise replacement livestock for their herd. They also grow corn, hay and oats for feed. The Klimeks have lived on their farm since 1977 when Glen’s dad, Carl, built the dairy barn in the fall of that year. The farm has been in the Klimek family since 1970.
Glen and Mary Lou raised eight children now ranging in age from 22 to 37. All were involved in 4-H and FFA. Their second youngest, Frank helps milk and do fieldwork on the farm. Frank’s three children love to visit the farm when dad is helping out with chores.
Glen serves on the local CENEX Cooperative Board and is a member of the Knights of Columbus and Eagles. Mary Lou is a past 4-H leader and is a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Christian Mothers. Both Glen and Mary Lou are very involved in their church including serving as Eucharistic ministers.
