Osland Family Farm
When Mark and Wanda decided to start a family they moved to the country in Chisago County so their children could experience the value and work ethic of growing up on a farm. Mark had grown up on a farm and knew those values well.
The Oslands started out small with a couple of head of beef cattle and a small acreage of hay. Over the years they expanded their Simmental cattle herd and acreage that now includes corn, soybeans and hay. The Osland’s young boys, Noah and Jacob help on the farm where they can.
The Osland family volunteers at church and school. Mark is actively involved in coaching youth sports including t-ball, soccer and flag football.
Mark is also an inventor. He came up with an idea that is now in the testing stage for a Minnesota manufacturing company. His idea was to see if a skid steer attachment could be adapted quickly to load fertilizer and bulk grains from gravity boxes to planters and drills making planting more time-efficient.
