Lynch Farm-Lone Oak Beef
Dave’s father, David Lynch senior, purchased the farm in 1950 and after graduating high school Dave starting farming with his father. Dave and his wife Marilyn raised three children: Mike, Mark and Heather. When Mike graduated from college he joined his father in the farming business.
Dave and Marilyn currently raise about 3,000 hogs annually and plant 500 acres of cash crops. Mike runs 300 acres of his own. Dave and Mike finish about 300 head of feeder cattle each year in addition to running a purebred Simmental herd.
Dave serves on the McPerson Township Board and plows snow for the township. He also serves on his church’s finance committee and is a former 4-H leader. Marilyn, Mike and Heather are still actively involved in 4-H. Several of the family’s Simmental cattle are leased to 4-H members each year for summer projects. Marilyn is also an active member of Trinity church in Janesville where she serves on several committees.
