Pleasant View Dairy
Pleasant View Dairy has been in the Dose family since 1951 when Jim’s grandparents George and Alice Dose bought the farm. In 1953, Jim’s parents, Henry and Irma Dose, moved on the farm and in 1975, Jim and Marcy moved there. Today Jim and Marcy farm with their son Mark. Pleasant View Dairy consists of a 60 cow dairy herd. They also grow corn, alfalfa, and a barley/pea mix. Jim and Mark run the family operation while Marcy works in town at the Lake City Nursing Home. In addition to their son Mark, Jim and Marcy also have two daughters who are married and not involved with the farm. Daughter Kristie lives by Lake City with her husband Neil and their three children. Daughter Brenda and her husband Jason live in Owatonna with their two children.
Mark is involved with the Wabasha County DHIA and the St. John’s Lutheran Church. Jim is active with the MN Dairy Promotion Council, the West Albany Township Board, and the St. John’s Lutheran Church Board of Elder. Together Jim and Marcy have been members of the Wabasha County ADA. When Mark, Kristie, and Brenda were younger, the entire Dose family was active involved with 4-H.
