Cottonwood Angus Farms
Cottonwood Angus Farms is located on the Minnesota/ South Dakota Border in the rolling hills of the Flandreau Creek Valley. The farm was homesteaded in 1876 by Eugene Butman. Today the 4th generation is operating the farm. Gregg and Diane Butman, Lyle and Margie Oye, Lance and Tammie Oye along with their son Dylan, Justin and Ashley Butman, along with their children Braden and Bergen are all involved in the day to day operations of the family farm. The farm has 300 registered Angus cows and has two production sales a year, selling breeding females and bulls. They also farm about 3000 acres of corn, beans, wheat, and alfalfa. Cottonwood Angus Farms also has 1000 acres of pasture.
The family is involved with 4-H and FFA. Other involvement in the community includes being board members of the Pipestone County Fair and being active members of the Pipestone County Cattlemen’s Association and American Angus Association.
