Kaschmitter Family Farm
In 1973, Bill and Marilyn Kaschmitter started their family farm near Sauk Rapids, MN with their four sons. The family farm, which started out as a 240 acre hobby farm, has transformed into a 1000 acre crop, hog, and beef operation. They grow corn, soybeans, oats, and hay while raising 120 sow farrow to finish and 35 beef. In addition, they custom roast soybeans and sell roasted soybeans. Brian and his wife Brenda have four children; Colby, Sarah, Ben, and Emma. Glen is married to Gail, and the both of them have additional jobs off the farm; Glen as a salesman for Channel & Wensman Seed and Gail as a worker at Huls Trucking. Bill passed away in 2001, but Marilyn, now retired, still enjoys driving tractor for rock picking.
Brian and Brenda are 4-H leaders and adult volunteers for Benton County 4-H. They are also members of the Sauk Rapids Area Hockey Associations. Brian is on the Elk River Watershed Board, and he and Glen are involved in the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, Central MN Irrigators Association, Farm Bureau, and Rice Sportsman’s Club. Colby, Sarah, and Ben, and are involved with 4-H and the Sauk Rapids-Rice FFA. Marilyn is on the Benton County Fair Board and is involved with Benton County 4-H. The Kaschmitter Family belongs to Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids.
