John and Sheila Robinson
John and Sheila both grew up on farms. John was raised on a farm in Redwood County and Sheila on the farm where they currently live in Franklin, MN. Prior to John and Sheila, Sheila’s grandparents and father owned the family farm. Today the Robinsons have 200 acres of soybeans and corn. In addition, they have a small herd of Simmental-Angus crossbred show cows, 30 head of steers, chickens, and an occasional pig. John and Sheila have two daughters. Sarah is earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Kate a degree in Ag Leadership, both at SDSU. Both girls have been involved with the farm for over 13 years. John’s brother, Tom, and his family (wife Kelly and children Sydney, Cara, and Sam) are also part of the cattle operation.
Sarah and Kate were both involved with 4-H and FFA. Kate is still involved being a collegiate 4-H member at SDSU. John is employed at Schult Homes in Redwood Falls and has been active with the Morton & Franklin Fire departments, Franklin city council, Franklins Lions Club, and Renville County Planning & Zoning Committee. Sheila is employed at the Franklin State Bank. She has enjoyed being involved with the Renville County Extension Committee,and being on various committees at church. John and Sheila are also members of MN State Cattlemen’s Association and MN Corn Growers Association.
