Kluis Family

Murray County

Kluis Farms began when Felix & Henrietta Kluis started farming in Fenton Township in the 1940s. Jim & Joan Kluis were next when they began farming in the 1960s.  In the 1990s brothers Mike and Aaron began farming together.  Today they run 3200 acres of corn and soybean.  They also raise hogs and cattle on their farm in Chandler, MN.  Mike and Jan have two sons, Austin (19) and Logan (16).  Aaron and Bridget have four children, Camdyn (9), Derek (8), Dylan (6), and Dugan (4).  Mike and Aaron are involved in all aspects of the farm.  Jan, Austin, and Logan assist with harvest, tillage, picking up round bales, and whenever help is needed.  Larry Van’t Hul, Tim Holm, and Jim Kluis also assist where needed in the operation.

In the community, Mike is the Fenton Township Supervisor.  Jan is on the Murray County Fair Board and Nobles Cooperative Electric Operation Round-Up Board.  Aaron is on the Chandler Co-op Board and Bridget is a Community Education Camp Coach.  Both families are involved  in the Fenton Friends 4-H Club.
