Richard and Sandy Bronson
In 1981, Richard moved to Princeton, MN from Oregon. He brought with him a decked trailer of pigs. A year later, Richard and Sandy were married. Sandy grew up on a dairy and then beef farm, but learned about pigs rather quickly. Today Richard and Sandy have a small herd of pigs and Black Angus purebred beef. Most of the cattle are moved up north during the summer for pasture where the method of rotational grazing is used. The Bronsons sell feeder pigs to 4-Hers and help 4-Hers in the swine and beef project. Richard and Sandy have three grown children, all of which enjoyed showing swine and beef in 4-H. All three kids are now living and working out of the state.
In the community, Richard and Sandy are very involved in their church, volunteering many hours and serving on various councils and committees. They are also active 4-H volunteer leaders and members of the East Central Pork Producers, where Richard is the current President. Sandy is the volunteer coordinator of Mille Lacs County. She has also been a member of the Master Gardener Program for 15 years and was a Hospice Volunteer.
