Faye, Rick, and Dennis Morganwick

Kanabec County

River Mist Farms is located along the Scenic Snake River 5 miles south of Mora. In 2010, the farm started out as a small hobby farm with a small apple orchard.  Now it has grown into a busy fruit and vegetable farm.  On the farm, Faye Carroll and Rick Tvedt raise seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables using organic methods.  They also have a small greenhouse to extend the growing season.  Faye and her brother Dennis Morganwick also grow vegetables and fruits in a community garden in Mora.  Some of the fruits and vegetables, as well as some homemade jam, are sold at the Mora farmer’s market, which Faye had a hand in organizing. Faye gets help selling her goods at the market from her two grandsons Jaden and Gabe Tvedt.  Along with raising fruits and vegetables, Faye and Rick raise and sell eggs from free range chickens.

Away from the farm, Faye serves on the Kanabec County Extension Committee.  She has also been a Master Gardener for 11 years and is on the Master Gardener Leadership Team and Garden Committee.  In addition, she is on the gardening crew for Zion Lutheran Church and enjoys her involvement with the Mora Farmer’s Market.  Faye, Rick, and Dennis are all 4-H alumni. Faye also served as a 4-H leader.
