Carrie and Wesley Lapham
The Lapham’s farm in Caledonia, MN was purchased in 1850 by Wesley’s great, great grandfather Charles Albee. Carrie and Wesley, the fifth generation on the farm, were in the dairy operation until 1986 and the hog operation from 1986-1994. Today Wesley and his brother Loren have a beef cow/calf operation. They also grow corn and soybeans. Wesley and Carrie have four children. Son Travis, age 27, is a police officer and works on the farm during crop season. Ethan, age 20, is a student of the U of M in Agriculture Education and helps on the farm on breaks from school. Kevin, age 18, will be freshmen at Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in the fall. He helps with daily farm work and in addition, is a beekeeper, which he started at age 12 following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle. Daughter Leslee, married to Aaron, enjoys farm activities when she visits home. Leslee lives in Winona and teaches Early Childhood Special Education.
The Laphams have been involved with 4-H over the years. In addition, Wesley is on the Wilmington Township Board and is an avid outdoorsman that supports local hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
