Terry Paulson, a third generation farmer, married Lisa in 1990 and moved to a 350 acre farm north of Aitkin. Together Terry and Lisa milked 75 cows and had a herd of 80 beef cows. After retiring from milking cows in 1996, Terry and Lisa expanded their cow/calf beef operation to 200 beef cows, consisting mostly of Black Angus cows and registered Black Bulls. In addition to the beef, Terry and Lisa also raise corn for silage, hay for feed, and rent hay and pasture ground. Terry and Lisa have two daughters: Miranda and Melissa. Both girls help with chores, the haying season, hauling cattle to and from pasture, and also with caring for the cattle.
In the community, the Paulson’s are members of the Cattlemen’s Association, American Angus Association, and involved in the 4-H program where Miranda and Melissa show their horses.
