The Edling Family
Edling Farms Inc. was established in the early 1900’s when Stanley Edling was a vegetable farmer. Stanley’s sons John and Jerome began growing potatoes on an operation in Osseo in 1963, but moved it to Clear Lake in 1969. In 1994, John retired, but Jeff, Brett, and Mark continued farming. Jerome retired in 1998, but is still active on the farm today. Today the farm has 1200 acres, of which 450 are fresh market potatoes. Other crops grown include field corn, seed corn, soybeans, squash, and pumpkins. On the farm Jerome, Jeff, Brett, and Mark get help from their wives and families. Jeff is married to Jennifer and they have two children, Jordyn and Jakob. Brett is married to Jennifer and they have three children, Belinda, Bryanna, and Bennett. Mark is married to Jennifer and they have three children Madelyn, Montana, and McKenna. Jerome is married to Anita.
The Edling’s are active with the US Potato Board, National Potato Council, United Potato Growers, MN Area II Potato Growers, East Central Irrigators, MN State Irrigators, and Sherburne County Farm Bureau. Jerome, Jeff, Brett, and Mark are also members of Clear Lake Lions. Jeff is assistant chief of the Becker Fire Department, and Jerome is retired from Becker Fire Department.
