Curt and Joyce Bohlen
Curt and Joyce Bohlen recently reached the recognition of Century Farm with the farm that was started by Curt’s grandfather Ben, and then owned by Clarence, and now Curt and his son Brad. Over the years, there have been dairy, hogs, and cash crops on the farm. Their unusual “crop” for 20 years was a campground in all directions around the farm house. At the present time, Curt and Brad cash crop corn, soybeans, and some wheat. On the farm, Brad is now taking the lead after Curt and Joyce’s involvement in the farm for almost fifty years. However, Curt continues to be active in the operation. Joyce fills in wherever needed, whether it is driving tractor or chasing parts. She also does the farm books.
Curt and Joyce are members of the Le Sueur County Farm Bureau, Corn Growers, and Soybean Growers. They are also past 4-H leaders, in addition to receiving FFA Honorary plaques. Curt is a member of the Lions. Joyce has also served on the LeSueur County Extension Committee and on the MN State Extension Committee. She has also been active in church, volunteering at a hospital, and as a member at the LeSueur County Historical Society.
