Bruce and Nelva Lilienthal
Bruce and Nelva from Arlington, MN began their farming journey when they bought a farm in 1979 with 80 acres of land, 5 beef cows, and 3 sows. Today, they along with their sons Christian and Kevin, operate about 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans, sweet corn, and grass hay. The Lilienthal’s also purchase approximately 800 head of beef cattle to finish out each year and have a few beef cows for the pasture. In addition to the beef, the family has chickens, turkeys, ducks, pheasants, pigeons, emu, llama, and recently a mob of kangaroos. Bruce also buys and processes furs in the winter. Bruce and Nelva enjoy hosting schools, clubs, friends, and family groups to their “Lilienthal Zoo.” Bruce and Nelva also have a daughter Stacy who lives in Portland, Oregon.
In the community, the entire family has been involved in 4-H and FFA at the local, county, and state levels. They are also active members of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.
