Bruce and Arleen Stone
Bruce and Arleen are the third generation on Stone Dairy. Bert and Ethel Stone and William and Marcella Stone are previous generations on the farm. Bruce and Arleen took over the farm in 1984, ten years after they and William and Marcella formed a family corporation. Since taking over the farm, Bruce and Arleen have built a 200 cow free stall barn with a parlor. The current operation milks 450 cows in a double parallel parlor milking 3 times a day with a rolling herd average of 26,000 lbs. They also farm 850 acres. Crops they grow include corn and alfalfa, 350 acres of which are irrigated. The family is active in the CSP program with some delayed haying, planted shrubs, and some wet lands. They are also a 5 Star Dairy through MN Milk Producers Association Quality Assurance program.
The Stone’s have 4 children all of which are married. Son Ryan and wife Sara help Bruce and Arleen in the farming operation and managing of the diary. The Stone’s are active in the community. Arleen has been in involved with church and with the township board. Bruce has been active in the ADA, county DHIA, and Pro Ag Coop. He is also active with the MN Milk Producers Association Board.
