John and Beverly Schroeder
Schroeder Holsteins, was homesteaded by John’s great-great grandfather 128 years ago. John and Bev represent the fifth generation to operate the farm. The farm has grown from 200 to 400 acres. On those acres, the Schroeder’s raise corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and oats. The family also raises 130 head of award winning registered Holsteins with 60 milk cows. Breeding stock at the farm is sold locally and has been sold to many countries across the world. Schroeder Holsteins has bred many state winners and four nationally recognized Holsteins. John, Bev, and their son Jason run the family farm. Jason’s wife Michele helps on the farm when time permits. John and Bev’s son Tim helps on the weekends and daughter Melissa helps when she is home.
Over the years, John and Bev have been active in 4-H, Farm-City Hub Club, and FFA. John has been on the Nicollet County MN Holstein Association and DHIA boards. He is also a dairy judge and has been for 42 consecutive years. Jason and Michele are involved with the Farm-City Hub Club. Jason is on the county Dairy and Holstein Associations. Michele, a former McLeod County Dairy Princess, serves as the coordinator of the Nicollet County Dairy Princess Program. She is also a 4-H judge. Tim is a member of the Holstein Association and county Corn Growers.
