Michael and Christine Buer
In 1952, Michael Buer’s grandparents started the Buer farm located in Grove City, MN. 11 years later, Michael’s parents purchased the farm. They raised beef, swine, and crops. The farm was turned over to Christine and Michael when they bought it in 2007. Today “Prairie Gold Farm” raises corn and soybeans and canning crops on 2,700 acres. Christine, Michael and their boys Breven and Dayton farm with Mike’s parents Philip and Romell. Mike and Philip do the majority of the field work with a lot of support coming from Christine and Romell. Prairie Gold Farm got its name from the paint color of Minneapolis Moline tractors, which was part of the Buer family’s farming history.
Away from the farm, Mike is a township board supervisor and is on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Board. He is also a member of the Meeker County Corn Growers. Christine is involved in many activities for Trinity Lutheran church.
