Robert and Melissa Garry
Robert and Melissa live on and own the farm that Robert’s father’s maternal grandparents homesteaded in 1862. At the farm, Robert and Melissa have replaced the house, but still use the same large barn that was built in 1932. The Garry farming also includes renting Robert’s mother’s farm where she lives, which was homesteaded by Robert’s paternal grandparents. The Garry’s grow corn, soybeans, and hay. They also raise some beef cattle and horses. Robert and Melissa have four children who all help on the farm.
Robert, Melissa, and their children are active in the community. They belong to 4-H, Fairmont Saddle Club, and SCSCA Association. The children are involved in various sports and activities in school. Robert also serves on GHEC School Bard, serves on Pleasant Prairie Township Board, and is a member of the Corn Growers Association.
