Ronald and LaVonne Anderson
Ronald and LaVonne of Karlstad, MN purchased their first parcel of land in 1972 and have added additional property to it over the years. Currently, the couple operates a cow-calf enterprise. They also background calves and run yearlings on grass in the summer. They raise hay and small grains, primarily for livestock feed. In addition, they operate Anderson Livestock Trucking Company, transporting livestock to all area livestock auctions. Ronald and LaVonne have four children: Caroline, Christine, Kelsie, and Samuel. They also have four grandchildren. Ronald and LaVonne are the main operators of the farm; however, son Samuel is also a valuable part of the operation.
Besides being a farmer, Ron was a teacher for 24 years and an Extension Educator for Marshall County for 9 months. LaVonne is currently a Kindergarten teacher. In the community, Ron has been active throughout the years with the Kittson County Soil and Water, Kittson County Extension Committee, Town Board, Heritage School Board, and Tri County Education Association. Both Ron and LaVonne are active in their church.
