Jeff and Julie More
Jeff is the third generation farming on the More’s family farm in Mapleton, MN. Jeff and his brother Steve started farming with their father Alvis at a young age and farmed with him until he retired. Jeff, at the age of 18, began his own operation when he rented land from a neighbor. Years later, he began his enterprise when he bought machinery from the same neighbor. Jeff currently farms 1000 acres of corn and soybean rotation. He and the family also raise registered Herefords, custom-finish 2000 hogs per year, collect eggs from 40 laying hens, and raise and process 125 chickens. In addition, the family raises wheat and bale several acres of hay. Brothers Jeff and Steve each own or lease their own land, but they still help one another and share equipment.
Jeff and his wife Julie have five children. Sons Josh and Justin have certified diesel mechanic training which comes in very handy when they come home after their full time jobs to help on the farm. Jeff and Julie’s daughters Jessica and Jodi assist quite a bit with the poultry and cattle. The oldest daughter Jennifer and her husband Matt also pitch in with the farm when they come to visit. In the community, Jeff is a dealer for Channel and Nu-Tech Seeds. He is also a former Blue Earth County Pork Producers board member. Jeff and Julie have also been active for more than 12 years in the St. Clair School Athletics Boosters. In 2004, Jeff, Julie, Alvis, and Steve were awarded the Blue Earth Co. Conservation Award.
