Hyde Park Holsteins; Kevin and Kay Siewert Family & Kerwin and Sandy Siewert
This family farm in Zumbro Falls, MN was started in 1941 by Kerwin’s parents, Clarence and Beatrice Siewert. Kerwin and Sandy began farming in 1970 when they purchased the family farm. In 1995, Kevin and Kay formed a partnership with Kerwin and Sandy. Since then the farm has grown to accommodate both families. Today the farm has a 500 cow dairy herd. They also feed out their Holstein steers from the dairy herd and have 1100 acres of cropland. 800 acres of the crops are corn and 300 are alfalfa. The Siewerts have ten employees that help on the dairy farm. In addition, Kevin and Kay’s boys, Justin (18), Jacob (15), Lee (7), and Blake (5) help where they can.
In the community, the Siewerts are involved with American Dairy Association, Minnesota Holstein Association, National Holstein Association, 4-H, and FFA.
