Harvey and Norma Reed & Sons Harvey and Norma started farming with Norma’s parents in the 60’s and purchased the 160 acre farm in the 70’s when her parents retired. To make the farm cash flow, Harvey and Norma rented an extra 300 acres and had a small farrow to finish hog operation in addition to their small beef cow/calf herd. Today Harvey and Norma run 650 acres with one of their sons, Randy. Their other son, Alan is self employed with a repair shop and helps on the farm when needed. Randy farms with his parents in addition to farming his own 320 acres, 160 of which he owns and 160 of which he rents. The Reed’s also have 30 beef cows. Harvey and Norma are members of the Watonwan County Farm Bureau, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, and have been Watonwan County Weather Spotters for approximately 20 years. | ||||||||||||||
