Watonwan County
Established in 1922, the Gieseke farm has been in the family for three generations. Peter and Amy Louise took over the operation in 1992 and currently milk 80 Jerseys and raise 100 head of young stock. The family runs nearly 300 acres of corn silage, high-moisture corn, alfalfa and soybean to provide feed for their cattle.

The family has been involved in the state Jersey Association and had a big role in the National Jersey Convention each time it was held in Minnesota. The Giesekes have hosted several tours including a visit from U.S. Rep. Gil Gutnecht. As large promoters of the Jersey breed and dairy products, the family slogan states, “Make a cow happy-drink milk.”
