Maurice and Pat Grogan & Steve and Mary Ann Grogan Kelley Land & Cattle Company of Marine on St. Croix, MN has been owned by the James E. Kelley Family for 50 years. It is now owned by grandsons Hampton & Kelley O’Neill. The farm consists of 2,950 acres, 1,750 of which is grass divided into 55 pastures for an intensive rotational program. The farm runs up to 1,000 head of Angus, both red and black, as either stockers or as a cow/calf operation. They also sell a lot of cattle through Superior Video auctions and have sold to several states. The Grogran’s also weed out 50 head to sell as freezer beef. Kelley O’Neill is president of Kelley Land & Cattle Company. Maurice and Steve Grogan have managed the farm since 1959. The family has conducted handicapped hunting parties on their property. They operate a licensed shooting preserve on the property and shoot up to 6,000 pheasants annually. The Grogan’s do approximately 20 hunting dog field trials annually and have approximately 70 dog owners who pay them to train their dogs. | ||||||||||||||
