Daren and Kim Schuerman Family

Daren began helping his dad with the farm operation as a youth.  In 1984, he began farming on his own, renting 228 acres and growing corn and soybeans.  Daren and Kim purchased the “home farm” in Danvers, MN in 2000 from Daren’s parents, David and Diane.  Daren is the 3rd generation of the Julius & Hazel Schuerman family to live and raise a family there.  Currently, the farm has 1350 acres of sugar beets, corn, soybeans, and wheat.  They also have a small beef commercial cow/calf herd and a couple of horses.

The entire Schuerman family has been involved with 4-H for over 15 years.  Daren and Kim were 4-H members as youth and as adults have served on numerous committees.  Daren also serves as township supervisor and sits on the planning commission for the township.  Kim is active in the church choir and has taught Sunday School for 17 years.  Daren and Kim are members of the MN Farm Bureau and are shareholders in the Southern MN Sugar Beet Coop as well as CVAC.
