Schroht Family Farm After getting married, Gerald and Berniece Schroht purchased their family farm from Gerald’s father, Albert. Over time, Randy and Audrey Schroht bought a home across the homestead and added farrowing to the family operation. In addition, they took over the dairy operation from Randy’s father. The current operation includes corn, soybeans, alfalfa, wheat, oats, canning peas, and sweet corn. It also has pigs and dairy. Just recently, the farm went into rotational grazing. Berniece is currently on the Steele County Historical Society Board and a member of St. John Church Council. Gerald is a former Asgrow seed corn dealer and former member of Corn and Soybean Growers. Today, Randy is involved with the Corn Growers and Soybean Growers Associations. Audrey has been a 4-H leader and Sunday School teacher for years. Finally, Kari Schroht was the 25th Princess Kay in 1978 and Randy and Audrey’s daughter Colleen was a finalist for the 50th Princess Kay in 2003. Along with having owned the dairy farm, Gerald and Berniece are the owners of two Century Farms. | ||||||||||||||
