Dennis and Judy purchased their farm from Dennis’s parents in October 1982. The farm has been in his family since his great-grandfather homesteaded it in 1869. The Ritters run a 194-acre dairy farm where they milk 66 cows and raise corn, oats and alfalfa. Ritter Dairy is a five star dairy that addresses the five major areas of water, odor and air; soil quality; nutrient management; habitat quality and diversity; and community image.
Dennis has been a St. Rosa Lion for 18 years holding various positions, is currently a board member of the Minnesota Milk Producers Association and a delegate for Land O’ Lakes. Dennis hosted a two day training at the farm for statewide Environmental Services He is also a current board member of Stearns County Water Management.
