Just outside of Duluth lies a beautiful maple forest owned by the Rogotzke family with approximately 4,600 taps for maple syrup.  Dave and Anne Rogotzke, along with their children, Katie, Leah and Matt, are all involved in thinning the woods, tapping trees, emptying buckets and bottling syrup.   The Rogotzkes have been processing syrup for many years and have received many awards for it, including first place awards at the 2003 and 2006 Minnesota State Fair, as well as a second place finish at the fair in 2005. The family has also commercially fished for King and Sockeye Salmon in Bristol Bay, Alaska for the past 25 years.

Dave has taught several Woodland Advisor classes for the University of Minnesota Extension and Minnesota Forestry Association.
