Goldenman Christmas Trees; Ernest Jr. and Mardelle Goldenma
Ernest Jr. and Mardelle started growing Christmas trees in the mid 1960s on their small hobby farm bordering the city of Zimmerman. Today the tree farm has approximately 35,000 Christmas trees of different sizes. 3,000-5,000 trees are planted each year to replace trees that die or are cut by “cut your own” customers. Ernest Jr. manages the Christmas tree business. His daughter, Terri and her husband, Jake run the Holiday Pines gift shop. Son Randy is growing Christmas trees at other locations. Their son Brian, is not directly involved in the operation, but is the cofounder/owner of a Farm Boy- Farm Girl clothing brand in many stores in the U.S. and Canada.
Ernie and Mardelle are involved with many community organizations. Ernie is the past president of Minnesota Christmas Tree Association. He is active in Project Increase and in the Gideon’s Bible organization. Mardelle is active in Christian women’s club. Ernie and Mardelle are also active in Zimmerman Evangelical Free Church where they were 1 of 7 founding families.
