Ray and Cindy Deutsch Ray’s parents, Clarence and Genevieve Deutsch, bought the current farm in 1948. In 1983, Ray started farming with his father and three years later, Ray and Cindy purchased the cows and machinery. At the same time, they began renting Cindy’s parents farm. Finally in 1992 Ray and Cindy purchased Ray’s father’s land. Today, Ray and Cindy milk 85 cows. They raise all of their young stock and finish 40-50 steers. They also raise about 190 acres of corn and 40 acres of soybeans. Ray and Cindy have three children, Matt, Joe, and Katie. The children work off the farm, but do milk once a week and help during the busy seasons of summer and fall. Ray has been on the Hastings Co-op Creamery board since 2000. Ray and Cindy are also members of St. Nicholas Church and for 6 years have been on the Scott-LeSueur ADA Board. | ||||||||||||||
