Chris, Brian, and Bruce Peterson Families Following in their parents’ footsteps, Chris, Brian, and Bruce are the 2nd generation of Peterson’s to receive the Farm Family of the Year Award. Their parents received the award in 1986. Chris, Brian, and Bruce Peterson took full ownership of “Far-Gaze Farms” from their father Burton when he retired in 1992. The current operation includes corn, soybeans, and alfalfa. A portion of the corn crop is marketed through ownership in Al-Corn Clean Fuel. The brothers also do custom planting and harvesting and have a hog finishing operation and dairy heifers. Chris, Brian, Bruce, and their families are involved in various community, church, and agricultural organizations. Chris is involved in the Minnesota Family Farms Board of Director and Rice County Pork Producers. Brian is a Founding Board Member of both Al-Corn and Rice/Dakota County Corn Growers. Bruce is the president of Dakota-Rice Corn & Soybean Growers and a former president of Rice County DHIA. Chris’s, Brian’s, and Bruce’s families are involved in 4-H and church youth groups. The Family Farm is also a recipient of the River Friendly Farmer Award. | ||||||||||||||
