Dennis and Kim Halvorson own and operate Halvorson Farms located in Morristown, Minnesota. This family farm was purchased in 1983. In 1988, Jerome Foods sought out families to become part of their poultry contract which led the Halvorson’s to build two 33,600 sq. ft. turkey barns. In 1998, Dennis and Kim decided to build a brood facility to feed their grow-out buildings. The Halvorson’s also market and apply manure for soil enrichment to local farms.
Dennis and Kim are members of the Minnesota Turkey Grower Association and won the 2007 Good Farm Neighbor award from the MDA. Kim is active on the Rice County Planning & Zoning Commission, District One Hospital Board, and the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce.
