Pipestone County
Since purchasing the farm in 1988, the Pater family has steadily improved and expanded its herd of milking cows to a total of 750. The cows are housed in an eight-row cross-ventilated, sand-bedded free stall barn and are milked in a double-12 parlor. The family also runs 650 acres of corn and alfalfa for feed use. Randy and Priscilla have four children who are active on the farm feeding calves and taking care of the cats.

Randy is currently on the county American Dairy Association Board and has served on the Dairy Herd Improvement Association Board, church council and school board. Priscilla volunteers many hours at the local school, gives piano lessons and is the children’s music leader in the church.
