Melon Vine Farm; Lee and Beverley Raudabaugh

The Raudabaugh family farm started in 1971 with a 20 acre parcel of pasture land.  They were involved with a small family farm program offered by control data which started them into vegetable production.  The family started with cabbage production and expanded into a full line of fruits and vegetables.  Currently, they have 75 acres, 20 acres being organically grown fruit and vegetables and the remainder being in rotational hay and corn.  Lee and Beverley have a greenhouse for flower and vegetable plant production and two high-tunnel greenhouses for growing tomatoes and peppers.  They sell their plants and hand-picked vegetables at the farm and at local farm markets.

The Raudabaugh’s have been involved with 4-H for many years.  In addition, presently, Lee is a member of the Rock Creek City council.  The family also has been a vital part of starting the local farm markets in the surrounding communities.
