The Olson farm, located near Cottonwood, Minnesota, was founded by Jonathan’s great-grandfather in 1913. Since then, the farm has been passed down to through four generations. The current operation consists of custom finishing 7000 hogs and 1000 acres of organic corn, soybeans, wheat, barley and peas. The Olsons have three daughters: Anna, Christina and Laura. Jonathan is a past Soil and Water supervisor and a past Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award winner. He is currently on the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association Organic Board and a Tae Kwon Do teacher in Cottonwood. Carolyn is the current president of the Lyon Count Farm Bureau and is the co-chair of the Pork Chop booth here at FarmFest. | |||||||||||||
