Jerry began farming at a young age with his 4-H sheep project and his purchase of 80 acres at age 18. He then expanded the farm into a cow herd, multiple crops and sheep. Today Jerry and his wife, Sharon, own 500 acres in which they raise grain, ryegrass and bluegrass.
Jerry and Sharon have seven children, sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren to keep them busy. Sharon taught Sunday school for over twenty years and was a member of the Arrowhead Library Board for seven years. She enjoys photography and baking while Jerry enjoys hunting, fishing and making animals out of old machinery parts. Jerry has served on the school board, church board and is a member of the Northern Farmers Coop and Northern Excellence Seed Coop.
