Chuck began farming in high school with his 4-H and FFA swine projects. He was married to Gladys in 1964 and the two moved to their current farm in 1972. As the children got older, the Vancuras expanded to a year-round farrowing operation. Today they no longer have year-round farrowing but purchase isoweans to raise until market weight.
Chuck and Gladys have helped with the Pork Chop Open Golf Tournament for many years and enjoy grilling and golfing. In appreciation to all of the things learned in FFA and 4-H, the Vancuras do as much as they can to help raise money for and support their local chapters and clubs.
