The Klimek farm is located in Alexandria, Minnesota. Alan’s parents owned and farmed this land for many years until Alan and Jessica purchased the dairy operation. Here the couple milk 80 cows together every morning as well as raise all of their own heifers and do their own A.I. breeding. Alan’s father is still actively involved with the farm and fieldwork. The Klimeks grow corn, alfalfa and oats for feeding.
Alan and Jessica are busy off the farm with Dairy Herd Improvement Association Board, Holstein Association, American Dairy Association Board, and their church. Jessica and Alan have 2 children and are expecting a third before the awards ceremony in August. Jessica notes that even though she didn’t grow up on a farm, she loves raising her children there and is excited to help her children become actively involved in 4-H.
