Leonard and Kathy Stinar Leonard Stinar from Bagley, MN started his nursery business in 1962 with $20 in his pocket and his Dad’s car. Leonard’s hard work paid off as he and his wife were in the nursery business for 32 years. The nursery was wholesale, cash and carry, landscape, and maintenance. It had up to 50 summer employees and every spring about 125, which included many school youth. Leonard served on the SWCD Board for 12 years. Kathy was a Clearwater County Master Gardener for 15 years and is currently certified for the MN Horticultural Society. Both were past members of the MN Nursery and the Wholesale Growers Associations. The couple has 6 children, Stephen (Linda), Ruth, Debbie-deceased (Jeff Carlson), Daniel, Ethan & Michael (Angie). They also have 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Leonard and Kathy are enjoying retirement as they enjoy keeping bees. | ||||||||||||||
