Jerry and Kathy Wetterlin

The family farm began in 1950 when Jerry’s parents moved from Gaylord, MN.  Jerry rented his first quarter of land in 1966 with the help of his dad and finally took over the family farm in Glyndon in 1972.  Today Jerry and his family farm a little over 1800 acres, raising wheat, barley, sunflowers, and soybeans.  Some of the wheat and barley is raised for seed.  Jerry’s son, Aaron, joined the farm in 1998 growing 400 acres of sugar beets.  

Jerry grew up with 4-H and is still active with the organization today.  He is also involved with the school board, Minnesota Wheat Growers, Minnesota Barley Growers, Minnesota Soybean Growers, and Minnesota Farmers Union.  Kathy is a member of the school advisory council and an active member of Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion.  She has also been a rural mail carrier since 1982.
