Riverside Dairy, located in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, is owned and operated by Gary and Rosie Hillesheim. Riverside Dairy was founded by Gary’s grandfather in 1914 and consisted of cows, pigs, chickens and land on which to grow crops. This farm was passed down to Gary’s father Nick in 1942 and later to Gary and his wife Rosie in 1969. Today the Hillesheims own and operate a 75-cow operation with their daughter Stacy. They also run 300 acres of alfalfa, peas, sweet corn, wheat and soybeans.
Stacy does the everyday dairy chores while her husband Ron helps with many of the repairs around the farm. Off the farm the couple are members of the American Dairy Association and Brown County Holstein Association Boards. Gary also has been the Stark Township Chairman for 39 years.
